Hello!
My name is Jason Thompson and I'd like to welcome you to Franke Park BMX!
I'd like to tell you a little bit about myself and my family. My father was in the military, so I have grown up in just about every place you could imagine! We settled in Newport News, Virginia in 1988, where I began racing myself. I raced competitively until I was about 22. Today, I still occasionally get out there on the track and love to help motivate my kids; however, in my older age, I've moved on to the cruiser class!
I met my wife, Amy almost 14 years ago. We are happily married and have four children : Kaleigh (8), Camden (7), Aiden (5), and Gavin (3). Camden and Aiden are our racers, and Kaleigh and Gavin are their fans! They have a great time coming out to the track and love to meet new people.
I have a small business in the construction industry, AET Exteriors. While I primarily focus on siding and stone work - both new construction and remodeling, I can also install windows, doors, and also work with interior remodeling projects. I suppose you could call me a jack of all trades! My wife, Amy, is currently working to continue her education and is also enjoying her time at home with the kids. She has her undergraduate degree from Indiana Tech and her master's degree from there as well.
Our family will be out at the track just about every practice and race. Of course you are always welcome to contact us at any time. We live here in Fort Wayne and can be reached day or night.
We'd love to learn more about you as well. We are excited to have finished our first full season here in 2008 and welcome any suggestions or comments you may have. Our goal is to revitalize BMX racing in the Fort Wayne and surrounding area and reach out to kids who may not even be aware of Franke Park BMX. BMX is a very family-friendly sport and we welcome anyone who may want to learn more about the sport!
